Aspirin Therapy Recommendations
- Recommend aspirin for women aged 55 to 79 to reduce risk for ischemic stroke when benefits outweigh risks for gastrointestinal bleeding and hemorrhagic stroke.
- Recommend aspirin for men aged 45 to 79 to a reduce risk for myocardial infarctions when benefits outweigh risks for gastrointestinal bleeding and hemorrhagic stroke.
- Doses of 75–160 mg per day are as effective as higher doses.
